The most obvious indications are: Dislocations, fractured necks of femur, the elderly (>70), non-compliant patients (alcohol, dementia..), tumours, joint laxity (neuro muscular disorders, cerebral palsy), rheumatoid arthritis, revisions..

NO. If it were the case patients would have a limited range of motion. In all studies patients have post-operative ranges of motion comparable to fixed bearing cups. 1st generation DM cups from ‘79 to ‘98 had 22,2mm heads only.
